    Crime statistics is very important factor to consider when buying home. Safety is always number one priority, but also consider financial factors. More crime more expenisve car insurance premuim gets. Where in safe place no car alarm system is needed in crime infested neighborhood it's almost required. Home security alarm system is also a good idea in a place where crime level is high. Car insurance alone can easily double or tripple depending on property crime level. Add to that several hundred a month for fancy car alarm and home alarm and all of a sudden "cheap" neighborhood doesn't seem so cheap anymore.
